Erskine Chambers are delighted to announce that Nick Segal has joined Chambers.

Nick was previously a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, and is a leading practitioner with over 30 years’ experience in restructuring, insolvency, corporate and banking law, both non-contentious and contentious. Since 2015 he has also been a judge of the Grand Court in Cayman, assigned to the Financial Services Division.

Nick will continue to practice in these fields and sit as a judge.

Nick’s practice has covered a wide range of matters in recent years from bank resolution and insolvencies and global corporate restructurings to litigation in London and abroad. His judicial work has also involved a wide range of disputes in corporate, funds, financial and insolvency law, many with a cross-border component.

Nick Segal commented: “I am delighted to be joining Erskine, a set I have worked with extensively since starting practice and always much admired. It is a set which combines a great culture with first class legal minds. I am particularly excited at the prospect of working with Erskine’s team of outstanding lawyers and being part of Chambers’ top flight corporate, restructuring and insolvency practice, working on both domestic and international matters”.

Head of Chambers Michael Todd QC commented: “Nick is a leading figure in the restructuring arena and his expertise will further strengthen our reputation with our commercial clients as a go-to set for company and insolvency matters. I am delighted that Nick has joined Erskine.”
