10@12 Webinar: Arbitration of Corporate Disputes

Lord Richards, former member of Erskine Chambers, appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court

Erskine Chambers congratulates Lord Richards on his appointment as a Justice of the Supreme Court. Lord Richards was a member of Erskine Chambers throughout his career at the Bar. His appointment as a Justice of the Supreme Court, specifically as an expert in company and corporate insolvency law, follows on the retirement of Lady Arden, another former member of Erskine Chambers.  Both Lord Richards and Lady Arden were leading practitioners at Erskine Chambers during their careers at the Bar.  This is recognition at the highest level that company law expertise, developed over years of specialist practice, is increasingly important for the proper determination of disputes.

Lord Reed made the following observations:

We are also delighted that Sir David Richards will be joining us as a Justice of the Court. His outstanding legal ability and breadth of experience, notably in company law and corporate insolvency, will maintain the Court’s expertise in these areas following Lady Arden’s retirement, and will be invaluable in maintaining the high quality of our judgments and our reputation as an international centre of legal excellence.”
