Dan Butler joins Erskine Chambers

Dan Butler joins Erskine Chambers upon successful completion of pupillage.

Erskine Chambers is delighted to announce that, upon successful completion of his pupillage, Dan Butler has accepted our offer of tenancy commencing on 1st July.

Prior to joining Chambers, Dan spent 12 years at Freshfields (including over 2 years in Hong Kong) specialising in restructuring and insolvency matters, both contentious and non-contentious. He has particular experience of schemes of arrangement and Part VII transfers (most recently, the groundbreaking scheme implemented by Malaysia Airlines), though his practice also includes commercial litigation, arbitration and professional negligence.

Dan welcomes instructions across all of Chambers’ core practice areas.

Head of Chambers David Chivers QC said, “I am very pleased to welcome Dan upon successful completion of his pupillage – his expertise in the field of insolvency law is well recognised.”

Phil Reeves, Senior Clerk, added, “Dan with his extensive experience will be a fantastic addition to the junior end of Chambers”.
